MAYA CIARROCCHI transforms the Works-In-Progress (WIP) Gallery into a working studio to create and edit the latest installment of her newest video work. Sept 11 – 15. Click here for further info

Video artist Maya Ciarrocchi transforms the Works-In-Progress (WIP) Gallery into a working studio to create and edit the latest installment of her newest video work. Inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name, I’m Nobody! Who are You?, is a multi-channel video installation comprised of life-sized video portraits exploring the question of identity and what happens emotionally and physically when a body is asked to simply be in space and time.

Ciarrocchi is inviting Artisphere visitors to be subjects in the work that she will be creating during her WIP residency. Drop in hours are from Noon to 2pm every day from September 11 through September 15 or email mayaciarrocchi@gmail.com for an appointment. To “pose” for the piece all that is required is to stand in front of the camera for less than 30 minutes. Participants are welcome to move their body but are asked not to look away from the lens. Upon completion of her work at Artisphere, I’m Nobody! Who Are You? will debut on the Town Hall Video Wall and play in rotation from October 1-31.
