Mare created “paintings with collaged elements combining found objects, photos, mass media. The works are influenced in part from the DADA, Pop Art and Surrealist movements yet the artist allows them their own creative independence. … In addition to painting, from 1970 – 2008 [he] worked as an Art Therapist and Recreation Specialist at the Jewish Guild for the Blind in New York City. He taught woodworking, ceramics, metal working, and mosaic workshops for visually impaired clients. … [His] works are in private collections in Europe and the United States.”
