I am primarily a painter but also work in sculpture, mixed media, and photography.
In my paintings and mixed media works I often weave incongruities together, showing similarities. I am drawn to the ephemeral - the glimpse, an edge lit up, light that changes into darkness at dusk.
I have always taken photographs- sometimes these are transformed into paintings. Recently I have been showing them on their own.
Landscapes are most often explorations of abstract geometric shapes and space.
The material that best expresses an idea suggests itself at the beginning of the process and determines its form. Subject matter is usually secondary. I focus on simple forms that act as supports for the light and shadows that surround and engulf them.
