High Line Open Studios presents its annual fall Artists’ Open Studios Event. The free self-guided open studios tour stretches along the High Line between Westbeth Artists building and West Chelsea Arts building. The self-guided tour starts at the West Chelsea Arts building, 508-526 West 26th Street where visitors can pickup Tour Maps and artists information.
Artists Open Studios, Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18, 2015 from
12:00 – 6:00 p.m.
More than 50 West Chelsea artists open their studios to the public during the weekend of October 17-18, 2015.
Westbeth Home to the Arts is very excited to be working with High Line Open Studios this year, playing a larger part by including over 30 visual artists from the building.
Westbeth is the first and largest publicly and privately financed conversion of an industrial complex into housing for artists in the United Stated.
Some of it’s original tenants included photographer Diane Arbus, Poet/Activist Muriel Rukeyser, Director-actor, Joseph Chaikin and Choreographer Merce Cunningham.
This is a wonderful opportunity for collectors, art enthusiasts and tourists alike to come, see and hear from the artists themselves.
