YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO PLAY, an improvisational, story-telling acting-workshop for
seniors at Westbeth Center for the Arts, presents ABOVE GROUND (NOT EXACTLY A COMEDY)

Conducted by international theater directors and acting teachers Nancy Gabor and Paul
Binnerts, the group, ages 74-98, has been together for almost five years and has presented
work on different themes at WESTBETH and at LITTLE ISLAND. The new piece explores
through improvisation, music and dance, the process of getting older with humor and love,
sharing childhood memories along with present issues of aging.

Among Nancy’s credits: collaborator with Joseph Chaikin and Sam Shepard; director of over 100
plays in NYC and abroad.
Paul, a renowned Dutch stage director, playwright and teacher
(awards: Theatertreffen 2006, Halle/Berlin for The Same Sea, Theaterfestival 2006, Amsterdam
for Mephisto) is the author of Acting in Real Time, University of Michigan Press (2012).
Nancy and Paul are long time Westbeth residents.
