Special Guest: David Hajdu, author of “Lush Life – A Biography of Billy Strayhorn”

Jazz vocalist and pianist Teri Roiger, acclaimed for her expressive interpretations of the American jazz tradition, leads this tribute to the music of Billy Strayhorn, the brilliant composer, arranger, and longtime creative collaborator of Duke Ellington. Roiger’s deep appreciation for jazz history and her experience exploring Strayhorn’s music bring insight and individuality to these performances. Acclaimed bassist John Menegon, who has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries including Dewey Redman, Jack DeJohnette, and Kenny Burrell, provides the ensemble’s dynamic foundation alongside guitarist Pete Smith and drummer Matt Garrity. Together, these accomplished musicians celebrate Strayhorn’s sophisticated harmonies, memorable melodies, and enduring contribution to the Great American Songbook.
