PIEROGI FLAT FILES Statement:
Pierogi’s traveling Flat Files are on the road again and will be on view at Mana Contemporary Jersey City for an extended stay of 6 months or more.
They will house portfolios of original works by 350+ artists with a selection of works displayed in the gallery.
Access and participation, on the part of both artists and viewers, was the original and remains the central idea of the Pierogi Flat Files.

One of the goals is to demystify the art viewing process by allowing people to view a large and eclectic group of original artworks in portfolios. The viewer becomes a participant in this interactive curatorial project, relying on their own confidence and discretion. With this exhibition, we hope to broaden the viewing experience and to bring the audience back to an in-person, visceral viewing where they can see and hold original artworks in hand.

MANA CONTEMPORARY Statement:
The Pierogi Flat Files are an interactive archive and exhibition series presented by Pierogi in partnership with Monira Foundation and Mana Contemporary.
Featuring approximately 300 portfolios of original works on paper, the project invites visitors to explore and experience the artworks directly—creating an intimate, self-guided viewing experience rarely found in traditional gallery settings.

Inclusive by design, Flat Files showcases a wide cross-section of contemporary practice, from emerging to established artists. In addition to the portfolios, the exhibition includes salon-style installations and larger complementary works.First launched at Pierogi in Brooklyn in 1994, the Flat Files has grown to include more than 800 artists and has been presented at major institutions nationwide and internationally, evolving in dialogue with each host community.

Mana Contemporary is open 11am–6pm, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and by appointment
