October 19, 2022

Photo: Joseph Holmes

Westbeth Icons is a project that celebrates the life and work of senior Westbeth artists who continue to work passionately in their artistic field. It is produced by the Westbeth Artists Residents Council.

The Icon evening features a filmed interview produced and directed by Ted Timreck with Terry Stoller, interviewer, as well as tributes by colleagues of the artist and words by the honoree. A special Icon gift is presented to the artist at the close of the evening.

The evening is free, open to the public.

Formerly a playwright, Christina co-founded the Westbeth Playwrights Feminist Collective – one of the first feminist theater groups in the USA. Their work has been included in the archives of the New York Historical Society and the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts. Her landscape architectural work has appeared in Garden Design Magazine, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. In 2013 she received a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and a Joan Mitchell Studio Grant for painting and printmaking. She won the Miriam Chaikin Writing Foundation award in 2018 and 2021. Her work has been featured in the International Print Center in New York City, has been included in the Feminist Artists Collection at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY, White Columns Gallery, and is represented in many private collections. christinamaile.com
