In the Laundry Room

One evening, around ten o’clock, I was doing my laundry, and another woman,
also doing her laundry, said to me,

“I’m so glad you’re here.”

I asked her, “Why?”

She said, “I am afraid to be here so late alone.”

I asked her, “Why?”

She said that one night a man attacked her.

“What did he want? Sex or money?”

She answered, “The folding table.”
