Tal Freiberg — Classical Musician Basso Cantante - Concert & Opera Music Teacher - Voice, Interpretation, Classical Piano

Tal Freiberg was trained as a pianist and also as a classical Bass-Baritone singer at Telma Yelin School for the Arts in Tel-Aviv, where he graduated distinctively as a piano major, The Jerusalem Rubin's Academy and Mannes College of Music, where he completed his Post Graduate Professional Diploma majoring in vocal performance.

Tal was instructed by some of the foremost names in the vocal and operatic world. Both studio work and masterclasses ensued under the tutelage of Christa Ludwig, Luigi Quilico, Vera Rozsa, Shirley Verrett, Yelena Obraztsova and Jerome Hines.

Tal Freiberg performed internationally as a recitalist and a chamber pianist. As a noted Bass-Baritone/Basso Cantante, he appeared at venues such as Alice Tully Hall and Bruno Walter Hall at The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The New York Public Library and the Jerusalem Theater.
In Opera, Tal Freiberg's work include engagements with the International Vocal Arts Institute, Opera Vermont, The new Israeli Opera and the studio program for young artists at the German Opera in Berlin. Tal performed 15 roles from supportive to principle ones.

Among awards and scholarships given to Tal Freiberg are the Sharet foundation scholarships and the Feorderkriese grant for professional training in Berlin.

Since 1998 Tal Freiberg has instructed piano and voice from youth to adults at his New York studio and the "Conservatory Afternoon Program" of Bank Street School at Bank Street College of Education.

Starting in 2011, Tal Freiberg’s collaboration with accomplished concert pianist Eiichi Shimada, resulted in the resumption of his vast recital and oratorical work; from Bach to Faure and Rutter, and from Beethoven to Mahler. Frequent engagements took place throughout Japan, and consisted of duo and solo recitals, as well as liturgical concerts. Tours included the Japanese SDA organization invitations to Tokyo, Odawara, Iramagawa, Yokosuka and Hofu/Yamaguchi. In addition, recitals were presented at Yamaha Hall in Koriama and the Igiriskan museum in Yokohama.

Latterly, Tal participated occasionally in the concert series of Saint Peter’s Church in Long Island/NY. A noted performance was his rendition to Handel’s Messiah within the series’s production of the Oratorio.
