Gayle Kirschenbaum: My New York solo photo exhibit

June 16, 2022

Artist Statement
I’m a New Yorker, born and raised. MY NEW YORK is anexhibit focused on moments that have caught my attention due to color, shapes, textures, mood, and relationships.

I am drawn toward opposing textures flushed against one another. Whenthe sun sets, surfaces are brightened with color, and buildings are saturated from its warm glow. I look upand see shapes created by skyscrapers as they converge against the cobalt blue sky. When it rains, the redleaves of autumn are soaked and fall scattering on the wet now reflective pavement.

I invite my viewer, my audience to experience the world as I see it, to feel what I feel, and to find their own personal connection. It is my mission through my work whetherin photography, film, or prose to take people onmy journey and bring knowledge and joy.
