Beginning this Friday, December 2, the Westbeth Music Festival will present the FIRST FRIDAYS LIVE MUSIC SERIES. Hear music of Westbeth’s artists in an exciting, brand new venue for music.

December 2nd – Westbeth Coffee House with folksinger Alexandra Leff

Alexandra Leff has been writing songs in the folk tradition for many years. She is appearing with Rebecca Keith (poet), Andrea Mazzariello, Jessica Safran, and “The Legendary” Barney Miller.

January 6th – Dave Mann Blues Band

Dave Mann is most widely known as the front man on guitar and vocals for New York’s longest running jam held at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, NYC ranging from soul, R&B, rock, Latin and everything in between. MORE ABOUT DAVE MANN

February 3rd – Mardi Gras Dance Party

with Westbeth’s fine musicians and special guests including guitarist Jim O’Donnell (from Bo Diddley’s band), vocalist Eve Zanni (Cab Calloway, The Sweethots), vocalist Bobby Harden (independent recording artist), Madeline Yayodele Nelson (vocals, shekere Women of the Calabash), reeds; Michael Art Moss (Zone), vocals; Val Hawk (3Spirit), trumpet; John Eckert (Jimmy Heath, Woody Herman, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis to name a few), drums; Denny McDermott, bass & tuba; David Hofstra, piano; Marty Dunayer

March 2nd – The New York Jazz Nine

The New York Jazz Nine is a mainstream contemporary acoustic Jazz band and performs arrangements of classic Jazz standards and new works. John Eckert (trumpet) played with Toshiko Akiyoshi, Louie Bellson, Benny Carter, Buck Clayton, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Heath, Woody Herman, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Stan Kenton, Lee Konitz, John Lewis, and Gerry Mulligan. April 6th – Bobby Harden Soul Band

May 4th – Michael Moss & Zone with Special Guest Eve Zanni

Michael Moss will perform with ZONE, a quintet in the tradition that breaks with tradition. As a reed player and composer, Moss has been actively involved in the music scene for many years, leading and recording his own musical groups Mike Moss/4 Rivers and Free Energy on his own label, 4th Stream Records. June 1st – Hal Miller
