Beyond his versatility within the Jazz medium\, he has also played in the orchestra pit of several Broadway musicals\, as well as with the Simon & Garfunkel reunion band. \nTim Harrison (Piano\, Composer): A UK native\, Tim Harrison’s highly-praised debut album\, Ar∙ia\, features his original compositions based on the poetry of Emily Dickinson. \nJeff Brillinger (Drums): Has toured and recorded with the Woody Herman Orchestra\, Chet Baker\, Stan Getz\, Mel Torme\, Zoot Simms among others and has appeared at major clubs and festivals in the U.S.\, Europe and Japan. \nGene Perla (Bass): Has played with Carlos “Patato” Valdes\, the famed Cuban conguero\, Nina Simone\, Woody Herman\, Sarah Vaughan\, Elvin Jones\, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra\, Sonny Rollins\, and Stone Alliance. Gene teaches at Lehigh University & The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music. \nDave Smith (Trumpet): Has recorded alongside Harry Connick Jr.\, Lenny Pickett and Tom Jones among others. His latest album “Anticipation” was Downbeat Editor’s Pick: “Smith…has power and a beautiful tone on his instrument\, and he’s a find composer too.” (Frank Alkyer\, Downbeat). \nJason Jackson (Trombone): A regular member of the Grammy Award winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra for over 10 years and the lead trombonist with the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band for 7\, he’s worked with Ray Charles\, Charles Mingus Big Band\, Barry Manilow\, and James Brown just to name a few. \nNoah Bless (Trombone): Discography includes over 50 albums for various artists such as Paquito D’Rivera\, Mario Bauza\, Don Braden and Celia Cruz. He’s contributed to many world-class jazz and Latin orchestras including; Marc Anthony\, Spanish Harlem\, Duke Ellington\, Chico O’Farril and the Lincoln Center Afro-Cuban Orchestra. \nBobby Porcelli (Flute\, Alto Saxophone): One of Latin and Afro-Cuban jazz ́s most accomplished flautists and alto saxophonists. He played with Tito Puente for over thirty years\, in addition to the Tito Rodriguez Orchestra and the Machito Orchestra\, and is featured in the Mambo Kings movie soundtrack. \nTerry Goss (Baritone Saxophone): Has been heard with the likes of Ray Charles\, Wayne Newton\, Dionne Warwick\, Carol Channing\, Rich Little\, Mel Torme\, The Drifters\, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra\, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra\, and many more. Saxophone instructor and an ensemble director at NYU for 10 years\, he’s appeared in every major jazz venue in New York City and a number of others around the world.

During that time their music has taken many exciting twists and turns. Teri is a jazz vocalist\, but also plays piano\, composes music\, and writes lyrics. John is a jazz bassist\, but is also a guitarist\, arranger\, singer\, and composer (music & lyrics). They have performed as a DUO throughout the U.S.\, Canada\, Mexico\, and Europe\, and have been featured artists at the San Miguel Jazz Festival (Mexico)\, Panama Jazz Festival (Panama)\, and Bolzano Jazz Festival (Italy)\, where they presented concerts and masterclasses. The depth of their experiences and love of jazz is apparent when they bring all their talents to live performances\, the recording studio\, and through their moving lyrics and compositions. They have also been sharing their knowledge and inspiration with their diverse students for over 25 years. Their numerous recordings have all met with critical acclaim\, as have their live performances at festivals and top New York jazz spots (Birdland\, Kitano\, Dizzy’s\, Mezzrow\, Jazz Standard\, Café Bohemia).  \nIn 2021 Teri & John released an album SHINE A BRIGHT LIGHT on their new label Valley Jazz Records with a new group called SHARP 5\, a collaboration with Pete Levin\, Nanny Assis & Jeff Siegel. Teri’s previous releases include GHOST OF YESTERDAY: SHADES OF LADY DAY where Teri showcases her uncommon knowledge\, appreciation\, and deep love for the artistry of Billie Holiday. Her recording DEAR ABBEY: THE MUSIC OF ABBEY LINCOLN with arrangements by Menegon\, met with great critical acclaim\, as did STILL LIFE where her composition “Still Life” won 3rd prize in the jazz category of the acclaimed songwriting competition ISC. Teri & John’s first collaboration\, MISTERIOSO\, included jazz legends Jack DeJohnette and Kenny Burrell\, and Teri was given permission to publish her own lyrics to Monk’s iconic composition “Misterioso.” \nJohn spent ten years playing and recording with jazz legends David “Fathead” Newman and Dewey Redman\, and currently plays with jazz legend Joe Lovano as well as leading his own band. He has released five CDs as a leader\, including “I Remember You” (a dedication to Redman and Newman) with a four-star review in Downbeat\, and his latest “Quartet East: Blew By Blues\,” a dedication to Charlie Haden.  \nSTEVE BERGER (guitarist) New Jersey born Berger studied with Barry Harris and Tal Farlow and has been active as an accompanist\, sideman & leader in the New York music scene for the past several decades. He  toured and performed with the late\, great Bob Dorough for over 30 years\, and was house bandleader for 16 years at Arturo’s in Greenwich Village. Currently he is actively playing in a Trio in New York City with vocalist Teri Roiger & bassist John Menegon. \nIn the event of rain\, concert will take place in the Westbeth Community Room. DESCRIPTION:The second in a series of free concerts by Westbeth musicians!\nAndreas Brade from Stuttgart\, Germany\, moved to the US to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston\, earning a degree in jazz performance. After graduating with a masters in Modern American Music from Longy School of Music of Bard College\, Andreas moved to NYC. Andreas has performed and recorded in many different setting from Jazz\, African and African Caribbean\, Improvisational\, Latin Jazz\, Musicals and Funk/R&B. He performed at festivals and venues such as the Montreal Jazz Fest\, The Kennedy Center\, Boston Symphony Hall\, The Blue Note\, and NJPAC to name a few. Andreas has composed music for Cornfield Dance for over ten years and worked as accompanist for Martha Graham\, Mark Morris\, Paul Taylor\, Alvin Ailey\, and Joffery Ballet. She has toured with big bands i.e. The Cab Calloway Orchestra and with her own group The Sweethots.  She continues to sing at many kinds of events and concerts in genres that include Jazz\, Blues\, Brasilian\, Cuban\, Celtic\, originals and more. Eve has played in and composed songs for film including the 2016 PBS documentary by Lily Rivlin; “Heather Booth: Changing the World”. \nEve Zanni’s JAZZMUNDO \nPassionate jazz vocals and arrangements with Brasilian\, Cuban\, Gypsy\, Middle-Eastern flavours; a singer-composer with sensual warmth\, wit\, wisdom\, groove \nEve Zanni is an original jazz voice\, warm and expressive with a sensual musicality…traversing the primal depths of great jazz standards and original compositions in a blend of her unique arrangements that embrace classic jazz\, Brasilian\, Afro-cuban\, and Middle-eastern rhythms….all sung with passion and romantic soul.\n. \nEve Zanni was born in California into a family of musicians and vocalists spanning several generations…(her father was one of The Harmonicats\, older brother played with Canned Heat\, Kaleidoscope\, Incredible String Band\, many more) performing and writing music and lyrics from childhood\, Eve left the U.S.A. as a teenager and wandered the globe\, living and performing for nine years in Europe.  \nSince returning to New York Eve began singing with big bands and her own vocal trio “The Sweethots”  – – mentioned in Will Friedwald’s book Jazz Singing as the “best of its kind” and The Ella Fitzgerald Biography by Stuart Nicholson. DESCRIPTION:Edward Field Westbeth Poet Interview \nIn 1963\, Grove Press published Edward Field’s first poetry collection\, Stand Up\, Friend\, with Me. Since then\, his many published works have included the poetry collections Variety Photoplays (1967)\, A Full Heart (1977)\, New and Selected Poems\, From the Book of My Life (1987)\, Counting Myself Lucky (1992)\, and After the Fall (2007). In addition\, he has edited poetry anthologies and co-written fiction with Neil Derrick\, his partner of almost six decades. In 2005\, Field published a literary memoir\, The Man Who Would Marry Susan Sontag: And Other Intimate Portraits of the Bohemian Era\, and in 2008\, Kabuli Days: Travels in Old Afghanistan. Achiro is currently living at Westbeth as part of its Artist at Risk program. \nInfo on Westbeth’s Artist at Risk program. \nShe is an award-winning writer\, director and producer after winning numerous awards and nominations for her Coffee Shop TV series as creator and writer and Yat Madit as head writer\, and for her short films: ‘The Surrogate’\, ‘The Mineral Basket’\, ‘Maraya Ni’.  \nShe is currently working on a feature documentary\, ‘My Prison Diary’\, due for release in 2023 and she has three feature scripts in development. She is also in the process of completing her late father’s manuscripts\, which he left behind after his death in 1994. This is alongside her first novel ‘Sex or Slave’\, set in 1940s Uganda during  colonialism.
