Community Room

The Community Room is a communal space for all to use, including Westbeth residents, our neighbors, and the extended community. We give priority to artists seeking to use the space for artistic presentations or rehearsals. It is equipped with a kitchen, audio visual equipment (upon request), baby grand piano, and can host up to 75 people.

Booking of the Community Room

Booking is arranged by the Community Relations Chair. If you are interested in booking the Community Room, please read the following:

Send an email to westbethcr@gmail stating the date(s) and time(s) you are interested in, and what you will use the room for.

Additionally, the Community Room is open for viewing the first WEDNESDAY of every month from 11:30 AM – NOON. Please email above address to confirm a viewing.

There are no set “rates” for using the room. We have not yet turned anyone away, though do ask that ALL donate something.
Examples of common donation amounts are as follows:

• Approximately $10 an hour for classes and rehearsals, $50-$150 for evening showings and/or performances, $50-$250 for weekend parties. On occasion we rent the space for commercial use (film location, etc.), and the donation is much higher.

• Please do not ask to use the room for free. Funds generated via the Community Room are the main source of income for WARC, and it is with these funds that WARC has produced all sorts of wonderful events for our community (e.g., Holiday Party, the Music Festival, WestFest, WestPlay). These donations also pay for the improvements in the gallery and the community room.

• Please do not ask to “slip in” when the room is not being used. Again, everyone who would like to use the room must arrange a time and offer a donation. We do this in an effort to keep things as fair and organized as possible with the space.

• Once you have settled time, date, use, and donation, a contract will be emailed to you and further detailed instructions about room use are in the contract. Bookings are not “confirmed” until an e-contract is sent to you and returned. Simply discussing a date does not mean that you have secured that booking. If you do not have access to email, you may leave a note at the security desk for the “Community Relations Chair” with date/time requests.

Lastly, if you have any other questions, feel free to contact If you have suggestions as to how the Community Room is run and/or scheduled, feel free to join our committee and get involved! Volunteering is a wonderful way to give thanks for living in such an amazing artists’ home.
